Planning Board

The Planning Board is a volunteer land use board appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Planning Board consists of seven regular members plus alternate members, all of whom must be Meredith residents. The board has several statutory responsibilities, including:

  • Preparation of the master plan (also known as the community plan) to guide the development of the town
  • Preparation, a recommended program of municipal capital improvements
  • Proposal of amendments to the existing zoning ordinance
  • Review and consideration of site plans for the development of non-residential and multifamily use
  • Review and consideration of plats for the subdivision of land

The Community Plan presents the community's shared vision and goals for Meredith and sets forth a recommended set of strategies and actions to achieve them over the next ten years. This community-created document ensures that future decisions made by our town boards, organizations, and developers are aligned with the community's priorities.
