New Hampshire’s Current Use program is designed to encourage the preservation of open space by offering property tax relief on land that remains undeveloped. Land that qualifies – such as forest, farmland, or unproductive land – can be taxed based on how it’s being used now, rather than its full market value.
To apply, you’ll need to fill out a Current Use Application (Form A-10) and submit it to the Assessing Department by April 15 of the year you’re applying. Depending on your land, you might also need to include a map or other supporting documents.
If you have questions or need help with the form, we’re happy to assist – just contact the Assessing Department.
