Guided Snowshoe Tour at Page Pond

Updates and Information Posted on January 12, 2026

The Meredith Conservation Commission will host a snowshoe tour of Page Pond Town Forest on Saturday, February 21 at 10:00 AM.  The planned route for the trip is the three mile Multi-purpose Trail starting from the Barnard Ridge Road Trailhead.  The destination is Page Pond and the historic Mill Dam.  Along the way we will look for signs of wildlife including otter, deer, beaver, pileated woodpecker, turkey, snowshoe hare, and fox.   A one mile route is an option for those who prefer a shorter trip.

This trip is moderate in difficulty, though it may be strenuous if there is deep snow.  Participants should bring snowshoes and traction devices such as microspikes, warm layered clothing, water, snacks, and perhaps a thermos of a warm beverage.   The trip is expected to take about three hours.

The event will be led by Scott Powell and other members of the Conservation Commission.  The tour will leave from the trailhead on Barnard Ridge Road promptly at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 21st.  The trailhead is 0.8 mile down Barnard Ridge Road from NH Route 25.  A trail map and trail descriptions may be found on the Conservation Commission website at meredithnh.gov.  Registration is required and is limited to ten participants.  To register, or for more information, email the Meredith Conservation Commission at conservation@meredithnh.gov.
