Police Department
Welcome to the Meredith Police Department (MPD), where we have committed ourselves to the protection of our citizens, the maintenance of community awareness and the preservation of order.
MPD patrols approximately 100 miles of paved and dirt roads, and takes an active role in emergency response to several islands in our jurisdiction. We work closely with the Belknap County Sheriff's Department, New Hampshire State Police, New Hampshire Fish and Game, New Hampshire Marine Patrol, our bordering city/town agencies. We also maintain working relationships with all law enforcement agencies, both in and outside our great state.
It is our duty and pleasure to provide emergency services to our residents and visitors alike, in a continued effort to make living, working and playing here safe and inviting.
Mission Statement
The Meredith Police Department strives to be a model of excellence in policing through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement. We are committed to building trust, fostering partnerships, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Our vision is a safe and united community where residents, visitors, and businesses thrive, and where every individual feels respected, protected, and valued.
